Sports Cookie Tutorial at Cake Whiz Blog

"While taking pictures of these cookies, I thought: Why not use these cookies to play a game of tic-tic-toe. Won’t that be cool? These sports ball cookies can be used instead of boring “x” and “o.” I know what you are all thinking… As kids, we were all taught not to play with food but seriously, where’s the fun in that?  My dad is back in Canada *sighs* or else I would have played this with him. My hubby and I played a game instead".... Read more

Sew Darn Crafty Linking Party...Week 85

It's the start to another Sew Darn Crafty Party. A great week of wonderful projects shared by all of you. Thank you again for always being here and letting us popover to your blog for a visit.

****************************************

If you want to add the button to your blog's side bar or your list of parties that you're in each week...Click HERE for a tutorial for adding a button

WHAT IS A LINKING PARTY...

I subscribe to a linking service, which provides the ability to link thumbnail pictures on my blog. The picture is a link that other bloggers provide to share their projects.

Two things can happen at a linking party...looking and/or linking
  • you can be greatly inspired by wonderful projects, ideas or vacation pictures (looking) and/or
  • you can share what you've been up to (linking)
If you want to be inspired by all the great ideas...just click on a picture and it will take you to that post from a wonderful blogger who was willing to share her thoughts and ideas.

HOW AND WHAT TO LINK TO THE PARTY...

Sew Darn Crafty is all about YOU!! Show off your projects, share a tutorial, show us your vacation pictures, share a family favorite recipe...share anything. Not only does linking inspire us all, it also brings lots of new people to your blog for a visit. Click here for past parties and lots of inspiration

Easy steps to join in on the fun...

  • link up to the specific project post, not your whole blog. Makes it easier to link right to that post and not  search through all your entire blog. To find the http address to a specific post, just click on the Title of your post. Copy and paste the address that's at the top of your computer into the linky steps.
  • link as many projects as you'd like...old or new
  • anything goes...cooking, sewing, knitting, crafts, organizing, remodeling projects, vacations, parties etc...
  • visit other links to share some blogging love! You know we all love comments!
  • linking is open til Saturday night, so plenty of time to join in
  • just click the blue "click here to enter" button which is at the very END...below all the other picture links that everyone has shared. Click and follow the easy steps

Have fun linking up! Don't forget to come back and take a look at all the great projects during the week

Another Waiting Room Before and After...

Hi everyone!! A few weeks ago, I shared a waiting room I decorated for the dental office I work in. Click HERE to see that post. Well, I wanted to share the second waiting room I did for our new office. I had so much fun doing both...different styles in each office, because of the style and ages of the buildings.

Here is the before of the room...

and here's the after...

View from inside the room.

This is the same wall on the right above.

Leather club chairs from Target just like the other office.

Dining room chairs from Marshall's.

Table from TJ Maxx and lamps from Marshall's $30 with the shades!!

Little desk from Ikea and thrift store chair. Rug is from Target...I think $80

The windows in this older home are just beautiful. They were hidden behind vertical blinds. The wood trim, crown molding and details are the reason for the different feel than the other office.

This is the kid's corner.

All the accessories are from Marshall's. The wire baskets were all different colors, so I spray painted them a galvanized metal. Aren't the little club chairs so cute.

All the lamps from Marshall's have pretty burlap fabric shades. Love them!!

Great new chandelier to replace an ugly round ball light. This is from Home Depot $80. Just need to turn the seams on the shades, now that I look at it!!

I have a tutorial for these lined drapes coming up.

Double rods and for drapes and sheers. Sheers are from Ikea...$5.00 for a pair!!

Fabric is from Joann's. Needed the coupon, but it came to about $22.00 per yard. I was sick cutting it! LOL

Lined drapes were easier than I thought.

Hope you enjoyed the tour.

I know this is a waiting room, but maybe you can use some of these ideas in your own home.

Have a great day,
~Karen~

I had there christmas ribbon tree i made and some other stuff but i had to make something to make it perfect (for my taste at least) ! I do not like having lots of things on my tables as decorations. I want two maybe three to each one, no more. Thoughts on Thursday...

I saw this somewhere on the internet and saved it to my phone, so I'm not even sure where it's from, but it had me thinking. Yes, it's funny because, I too, love "lunchtime", but really what time period would I go back to?

I really think I would set my time machine and travel back to the 1930's. I know, depression era...but I just love the Waltons and the simplicity of that time.

Not to mention they made quilts like this!!

My second time machine trip would be the late 1800's...Little House on the Prairie.

Ok, I think I am completely swayed by television and once I arrived at my destinations, I would see how hard it was to live during those times and high tail it right back !! LOL

How about you? Where would your time machine be set to...what place, what time period etc?

Happy Thursday,
~Karen~

Tutorial - How to Make an Autumn Wreath

Make a lovely Wreath to welcome Fall

Autumn Wreath Tutorial at Just a Thought Blog

"It's the season I love. The smell of vineyards heavy with fruit for harvest, and the sound of geese, calling to each other as they spread across an Autumn sky. There seems to be no shortage of things turning our hearts to gratitude and grace!  I've been hovering around my craft bins lately, wanting to create something new for the season... specifically a wreath. It all started when we were on vacation and I spotted a beautiful fall wreath at a small country store. It was all ruffled burlap and shades of warm apple cider (be still my Autumn heart!) I loved everything about it except the price! It stayed on the shelf and I came home determined to come up with my own Fall wreath. Monday morning I woke up to cool Autumn breezes and I knew it was time".... Read more
